THE SPANISH SCHOOL PROJECT

One of the little known areas of classical fencing history is the development of the Spanish School of fencing.  Much attention has been devoted to the various Italian schools and the French schools of foil and epee, but the development of the Spanish School of  fencing and those who taught a distinct Spanish style has not been widely examined.  In collaboration with our Research Fellow, Leonardo Bacarreza, Ph.D., a fencer and a professor of the Spanish language, we are accumulating a collection of translations that we believe will eventually provide an understanding of this neglected school.
