THE CLASSICAL FENCING ACTIONS PROJECT

Classical Fencing is distinguished by the variety and complexity of its blade actions in all three weapons.  To the best of our knowledge there is no unified compendium of the various techniques.  The Classical Academy of Arms Classical Fencing Actions Project Catalog of Classical Fencing Actions is an on-going effort to catalog the actions used in the period 1880-1939 in foil, sabre, and epee in all schools, based on period texts by Fencing Masters.  This catalog currently extends to more than 42 pages, with a fairly complete coverage of French technique.  Current work is expanding coverage in other schools.  Updates are published quarterly.  Copies of the catalog are available on request by members of the Academy and students in our professional credentialing course, and by an annual subscription of $20.00 for all others.
